SAN ANTONIO, TX—JEFRË (Jefre Figueras Manuel), an internationally recognized public artist and landscape architect, has completed Unity Plaza, the largest public art project in San Antonio. The principle vision behind Unity Plaza was to represent the historic uniting of two oldest public safety departments in Texas, San Antonio Police Department and San Antonio Fire Department, under one central headquarters facility.
“With this bold public art project, we are honoring our brave emergency responders with a visible landmark that is both inspiring and accessible to the public.”--said Mayor Julián Castro.

The “Torch of Friendship”, created by artist Sebastian in 2002. The sculpture was given to San Antonio by the Mexican Consulate as a sign of friendship and to represent the roots many Texans share with Mexico. It was commissioned to commemorate the relationship between the United States and Mexico and the two countries’ increasing commercial ties.

I was commissioned to develop and create one minute video pieces that showcased selected art pieces downtown San Antonio, TX. The intention behind the creative process for me was to convey the experience of the environment that surrounds the artwork.

Francis Trachtahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15502939295655465691noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2222358124138651756.post-82992396972975761842012-02-10T10:57:00.018-06:002015-02-16T21:51:31.245-06:00BicycleBicycle

"Bicycle" represents the desire to escape the digital world we’ve become so accustomed to in everyday life. Unfortunately, our world is reliant upon connectivity and the technology that supports our communication in the world everyday. When that connection is broken, even for a brief moment, our world begins to come apart at the seems.Francis Trachtahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15502939295655465691noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2222358124138651756.post-77821389641821060932011-09-13T14:58:00.010-05:002014-04-23T22:19:02.896-05:00Pole Fitness
Pole Fitness from Fran Trachta on Vimeo.

A friend of mine mentioned that she was taking a pole fitness class. At first, I thought this could be a great editorial photography project, but after meeting her instructor, I decided that this would make a better short documentary.

I'm not sure how many people realize just how difficult it is to even stay on the pole, much less execute the routines that I witnessed in the studio.

After speaking with Jennifer about her workout routine and class structure, I had a few questions that I thought could help differentiate the public's perception of pole fitness. It was clear that her passion and enthusiasm was not only focused on herself, but for her class and the students involved as well.Francis Trachtahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15502939295655465691noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2222358124138651756.post-6832412544088825942010-03-06T18:00:00.032-06:002015-02-16T21:47:48.810-06:00Signs and Symptoms of LymphedemaSigns and Symptoms of Lymphedema
